REVIEW: ROBYN REGAN RELEASED HER LATEST EP ‘ THIS LOVE’ BACK IN JANUARY BUT I STILL LOVE IT NOW!

Robyn Regan has been in TV but decided its the music she loves more!
This Love EP is 5 tracks of well written and sang songs that you will always want to listen too!

Track 1 is the title of the whole EP ‘ This Love’ a heavy drum beat with claps and vocals come straight through giving you the true honesty of the track when Robyn sings.
When you listen to the lyrics you feel them, they are so honest and you can hear this though the vocals and its very sweet.

Track 2 ‘ Dream’ says a lot in the title here I think here, still wanting to work on her dreams from when she was a ‘Little Girl’, ‘Wanting to be a Princess’ but now being ‘older and wiser’ being a princess is not her dream but the song still represents all her other dreams.
The instrumental of this tracks just fits with the theme of Dreams and thats great to have because you can really relate and understand.

Track 3 ‘ Home’ has a solid beat which just lets you really engage with the song and carries you along, this sounds so much more personal than any of the other songs on the EP being about her dad in a ‘Foreign Country’ and I think writing a song with such strong lyrics/meaning helps Robyn and will help a lot of other people going through the same situation.

Track 4 ‘Separate Ways’ about heartbreak, liking or even falling in love with someone who you was once with is always hard going our ‘Separate Ways’ and I think Robyn writing this track tells you that it can be a good thing going our separate ways and it is because there will be someone out there who treats you the way you should be.
With a high performance, instrumental and originality throughout this is a song you would listen to after all the rubbish whats happened and just think ‘ forget him’

Track 5 ‘ Oh I’ The vocal melody is very interesting and original which is great to hear in a song.Robyn’s vocals are very consistent throughout the whole song which is great in a track because it makes you want to re-listen to it also her vocals are silvery which is pleasant to listen to!

All 5 songs are brilliant but I do have to say ‘Home’ is my favourite such a powerful message and emotion in the track which a lot of people are going through and this song could really help a lot.

REVIEW: LUKE POTTER GAVE ME A EARLY LISTEN TO HIS LATEST SINGLE ‘SHOULD I STAY’ AND IT IS OUT ON THE 29TH JANUARY!

Luke has done it again with his latest single, a melt your heart one but so lovely to listen too!

its starts off with a peaceful slow start and builds up creates a song that you just want to sway you head to… well I do anyway.

Then once his vocals come through it clashes beautifully with the instrumental with his appealing and silvery vocals that you can not stop listening to.

With Meaningful melodies and original lyrics shows the creativity throughout the song and video.

His vibrant performance makes you just want to put this track on repeat but also shows that this is a song that is very close to Luke and it’s taken time to get to this end product but it was worth it in the end.

REVIEW: I GET THE CHANCE TO HAVE A SNEAK PEAK OF NARROW PLAINS SELF TITLED DEBUT ALBUM WHICH WILL BE RELEASED ON THE 22ND JANUARY 2016! CHECK OUT WHAT I THINK.

Charlie Ferriday and Brothers Roger Connick and Stuart Connick, all having the same love for music as school friends the trio decided to form a band and they did that…

These have caught the eye of a lot of attention; in 2015 they won Hard Rock Café, UpRiseFM’s ‘Live in Your City’ and more!

A 13 track Album which starts with a track called ‘Restless Minds’ , it has an interesting guitar/drum instrumental which sets up a solid beat throughout and gives you an idea about the rest of the album.

Second is ‘ I should’ve Known’ straight in with vocals from Charlie’s gravelly vocals mix together with the instrumental and just creates a perfect song with meaning to it.

Track 7 ‘Ghost’ slower and peaceful showing their different vocal and instrumental ability which is fantastic.

Charlie has more honest vibe to his vocals on this song, like he is telling a story that maybe once got hurt but is getting over it but it’s taking time.

The guitar and drum instrumental again adds to the story behind the song and makes you feel what they are going through.

Track 13 ‘Take Me Back’ again faster and upbeat but low which is different but a great way to end the album.

Silvery vocals that just make you want to put this on repeat come straight in and its heaven!

You straightaway capture a picture which you just want to lay back and be taken away with the instrumental and really understand what they are going through which you may relate too!

This is just four of the incredible tracks, make sure you grab a copy tomorrow!

I give ‘NARROW PLAINS’ a 10/10 and would definitely put it on repeat.

CHECK OUT THE VIDEO BELOW FOR ‘I SHOULD’VE KNOWN’

CD RELEASE IS Friday, 22nd January 2016  at London’s O2 Academy Islington 2

LA BASED TRIO ‘TALL BONES’ ARE HITTING THE MUSIC SCENE WITH THEIR ROCK ‘N’ ROLL GENRE BUT ALSO A FEW SURPRISE GENRES AS WELL! GET TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE TRIO HERE!

What’s the band called?

Tall Bones

What are your full name?
Jacob Dean, Max Ramm, Lorenzo de la Loza

How old are you?
25-26

What is your genre of music?
We’re a rock n roll band. We can get pretty heavy and psychedelic at times but can also have an acoustic americana vibe.

Give us a little Bio of you as a band and individuals.
The three of us started playing together about two years ago. We all work really well together musically and have similar influences and style. Ever since, we’ve been playing local Los Angeles shows and writing and recording original music. Last year we went to the Station House Studio in Echo Park and tracked our first full EP. We’ve released two of the songs on a turquoise 7” vinyl, and the other songs are currently being mastered to be released in the coming months. 2016 will be a big year, with lots of new music.

What made you go into music?
JD: I started playing the snare drum in the school band at recess. I’ve been playing ever since
MR: I thought the guitar looked so cool and being raised listening to good rock music helped my love for it.
LD: My uncle gave me his old guitar when I was a kid, I learned from there and developed a love for music.

How long have you been doing music?
JD: 15 years
MR: About 15 years as well
LD: 15 years

Are you a signed ?
No, we’re not signed

What instruments do you play?
Lorenzo de la Loza – vocals/bass/acoustic guitar
Max Ramm – guitar, sometimes organ and keys
Jacob Dean – drums & percussion

Who are your influences?
MR: Jimi Hendrix, The Velvet Underground, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Oasis, Grateful Dead, The Band, The Beatles, Wilco, I could go on for days
JD: Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cream, Neil Young to name a few
LD: The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Buddy Miles, Spacemen 3, The Rolling Stones, Love, MC5, T. Rex, and many more

When will your new material be out?
We have our first EP coming out in the next few months, it’s currently being mastered. A date hasn’t been picked yet.

Is there a Album coming out?
We pressed a 7” vinyl of our two singles “Blind Love” and “Son of a Gun.” You can purchase it on our website or at a show. Both songs are also available on iTunes & Spotify and will apart of our new EP.

When will you guys be touring and where if you are?
We don’t have any tour planned as of now. There are a lot of cool places along the California coast, so a short California tour would be nice in the not so distant future. We would love to come to the UK and other parts of Europe someday.

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
Most of our song will start off as a spontaneous jam and evolve from there until it’s a complete idea. Lots of improv

Where do you see yourself in 2-5 Years?
MR: A lot more comfortable financially, and still playing lots of music
JD: In an ideal world I will be working more with music
LD: Playing music! Hopefully have a full album out.

What’s the best reaction you had when you joined the band from a friend or family?
MR: It’s all been very positive. It was nice to start a project where we all work really well together.
JD: I’ve gotten a lot of good energy from friends and family. It keeps me going
LD: I’ve had a lot of positive support from friends & family which is awesome, the whole experience has been very fun and positive.

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
MR: My day job involves music so it’s always around me. Most free time goes to music but I enjoy a good hike, netflix, and a beer.
JD: Most days I’m working. Music is a good way to release some of the tension. I am also a student so I don’t get much leisure time
LD: I also work a lot – most free time is spent practicing, recording, or mixing music.

If you could collaborate with one UK Artist who would it be?
MR: Paul McCartney. Lots of great options but he’s the best songwriter.
JD: Royal Blood has a great sound
LD: Jason Pierce (Spiritualized, Spacemen 3)

If you could collaborate with one USA Artist who would it be?
MR: Ryan Adams. I love the sound of his records.
JD: I’d like to collaborate with Scott Mescudi

JD: I spent a lot of time jamming along to ‘In Bloom’ by Nirvana with my brothers when we were starting out. We would also play wipeout a lot
LD: My mom gave me her old copy of Led Zeppelin IV on vinyl when I was a kid, from there I got really interested in rock music and started playing along to my favorite records.

BRONNIE HUGHES IS JUST A 18 YEAR OLD WITH A VOICE THAT ELECTRIFY’S, WITH HER POP/ROCK GENRE ITS SAFE TO SAY SHE’S BRINGING IT BACK FOR THE GIRLS IN MUSIC!

What is your Full name?

Bronwen Lily Hughes

How old are you?

18

What is your genre of music?

Pop/Rock

Give us a little bio about you –

I’m from Wirral, England! (Basically Liverpool but no one has heard of the Wirral) I’m currently studying pop music & Sound Tech at Paul McCartney’s music uni for a year! I write weird songs constantly and I enjoy long romantic walks… To the fridge.

How long have you been doing music and what made you go in to music?

I’ve wanted to be a singer for as long as I can remember but often changed my mind by liking photography; musical theatre etc but I’ve always loved the singing aspect of musical theatre! I’ve been singing in front of people in musical theatre since I was 7, I had my FIRST EVER SOLO when I was 14 (Never been so nervous in my life!!!) I spent years deciding what I wanted to be when I was older but singing was always there in the back of my head so after a short trip to Wales (April 2014) one night I randomly downloaded all of Busted’s albums, realised how awesome they are and decided I want to do what they do!

Are you a signed?

Nope, I’ve had various people contacting me but you just got to pick the right deal that’s best for you and your musicJ

What instruments do you play?

Guitar

Who are your influences?

A lot of old school pop/rock bands! …. Busted, Bowling For Soup, Green Day, Blink 182… you get my jist!

Will we see an album next year, if so can you say when?

You’ll definitely be seeing an EP next year;)

Will you be doing any gigs or a Tour?

Hopefully!

How do you get inspiration to write songs?

Most of the time I get inspiration after I listen to my favourite bands or watch a high school ‘American Pie’ type film!

Where do you see yourself in 2-5 Years?

Writing songs for myself and various artists, hopefully I’ll be in a kick ass band!! I definitely would like to be in a band with dudes and not girls though, I just get on better writing and recording with guys cause every guy I work with loves the same bands as I do! .. not many girls I know like to rock out to a bit of old school Blink haha!

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?

Eating, smelling candles… one time I found myself in the Yankee Candle store for 45 MINUTES just smelling every single candle in there… heaven!

If you could collaborate with one UK Artist who would it be?

James Bourne, I love every single song he writes and his band Busted is awesome and he was the reason I started writing songs!

If you could collaborate with one USA Artist who would it be?

I have to admit… I’m turning into a Bielieber so it would be awesome to collab with the man himself… talk about good promo;)
But I would also love to work with the band Bowling For Soup as they have sparked a lot of song ideas for me!

Where is your dream venue or festival to perform in UK?

Liverpool Echo Arena! I’ve seen my favourite artists and bands play; it would be mega for me!

Where is your dream venue or festival to perform in USA?

Probably the Forum in LA!

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?

I’m not sure what song but it was definitely the 2 Busted albums!

What was the first song you wrote?

It was a song called Stay; I wrote that song the day after I downloaded all of Busted’s tracks and was blown away!!

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?

Miranda Miller from Hey Violet said to me in LA… Practise for at least 2 hours a day on your instrument/s, do anything to promote yourself and make your self known by putting yourself out there, believe you can do it, and with help and support from your mates and family you can do it!

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Just go for it! Be the musician you want to be… even if you fail a couple of times!

What quote or saying do you always stick by?

‘Good things don’t happen to those who wait… good things happen to those who get up off their asses and do shit!’

REVIEW: BLUES/SOUL BAND LUNA LEPAGE RELEASED THEIR LATEST TRACK ‘PHOENIX’ ON THE 20TH OCTOBER. HERE’S WHAT I THINK!

A Blues/Soul band ‘LUNA LEPAGE’ are ready to show the world what they have to offer!

A calm and slow instrumental which carries you peacefully throughout the song.

Beth Morris  is the lead vocalist of Luna LePage and her silvery vocals come straight through and magic comes out…

Having being influenced by many including Amy Winehouse if safe to say you can hear it in the song. Straight away Beth’s vocals remind me of Amy Winehouse’s but with her own unique twist on then which  are so pleasant and consistent to listen too. This is a track you’ll have on repeat and will be hearing  a lot more of very soon!

Lyrically this is a song that seems have a lot of meaning behind it like it’s telling a story and you can somehow relate to what they are singing about.

Going from the darkest place to finding that light and leading  you in the direction you want to be going in to and just feeling happy about the good stuff that has happened to you after all the dark thinks that happened which are now just memories.

This a song with a meaning that will always pull you out of the bad things and allow you to remember something better is awaiting around the corner.

This is such a professional and creative band that you will all be hearing a lot more of so make sure you are keeping update with them!

ONE- WAY SONG ARE THE NEW MANCHESTER DUO TAKING A STEP OUT TO SHOW THE WORLD THEIR STORY AND MUSIC.

1wsmanchester

What’s the band called?
One-Way Song.

Where did the name come from?
It’s taken from a Wyndham Lewis poem of the same name, a very underrated writer.

What are your full names?
Luke Gilfedder and Angus Macalister, we run the group. Danielle Roseler is a model from Manchester, originally from South Africa, and she is also involved with the group.

How old are you?
We are both 22.

What is your genre of music?
Alternative

Give us a little Bio of you as a band and individual.
We also run a Manchester theatre group ‘Finn Youth’ which began when we met at Manchester Grammar School. We turned down university to do ‘Finn Youth’, and we had shows at the Royal Exchange Manchester in 2012 & 2015 and on the West End also.
Luke was born in Warrington and Angus in Wilmslow, two very different places! Manchester is like the neutral ground. That’ll be reflected in the music. This first single is very Wilmslow – for better or for worse.

How long have you been doing music?
The group only started in Summer 2015, so not too long really!

What made you go in to music?
Austerity and/or ‘La Dolce Vita’!

Are you a signed?
No, though we haven’t even looked for a label yet.

What instruments do you play?
We’re pretty much just the fundamentals – Guitars, Synth (the new Korg) Bass and Drums!

Who are your influences?
For music: Real Lies & John Barry. For books it’d be: Norman Mailer, Colin Wilson & Jonathan Meades – they’re all great.

When will your new material be out?
‘When I Was Bully’ – the first single, is out on the 17th October.

Is there a Album coming out?
Definitely. The debut will be early next year. ‘Passionate Leave’ is the working title right now.

Will you guys be touring and where if you are?
We will be doing a tour to support the album next year. It would be great to do some stuff outside of Manchester on that tour finally!

How do you get inspiration to write songs?
Inspiration is just life in 2015 really – everything seems to be getting better as it gets worse, everything is becoming more sensitive to nuance as it becomes more orthodox. Young people can sense – and shape through music, film & fashion – all of these changes, but they get too wrapped up in apathy to do anything about it.

Where do you see yourself in 2-5 Years?
Hard to predict really in the current climate! It’s all about outlasting yourself, keeping the group going strong, and on our terms, as best as we can.

When you’re not doing music, what do you do?
Let football and cheap alcohol shake us to the core.

If you could collaborate with one UK Artist who would it be?
Robbie Williams

If you could collaborate with one USA Artist who would it be?
David Johansen

Where is your dream venue or festival to perform in UK?
The Ritz in Manchester would be good to play one day.

Where is your dream venue or festival to perform in USA?
The Grand Ole Opry.

What do you think of the Manchester music scene? And do you think Manchester could do more for unsigned artist?

It is ok in places and there’s usually one good thing a week, but Manchester can be very caught up with ‘musical heritage’, and the main audiences seem to be dads or students, or both…

Scenes are always defined by the people who stand outside of them, you can’t ‘inject’ true difference by arts schemes, groups have to build their way up. So when something good comes, Manchester just needs to give it room, and humbly promote its difference.

What was the song you listened to most that influenced you to go more in to the music scene?

Good question… probably ‘A Thousand Lifetimes’ by Glen Campbell

What was the first song you wrote?

It was a song about a few nights in Marseille called ‘Riviera Nightmare’  – we developed it and it’s gonna make it onto the album we think!

What’s the best advice you have ever been given?

Never trust anyone without unaccounted-for years in them.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

Do not project what might be, but what should be.

What quote or saying do you always stick by?

“Life is hard when no-one knows the importance of it” – Nijinsky

When you are at a gig, what are 5 things you cannot forget?

All the usual things really:

– Is everyone there on time
– Is everyone in the right frame of mind
– Is everything set up right
– If you’re working with people at the venue, making sure they are on the same page as you
– Stay behind for a drink afterward if the venue is alright!

Do you have social media accounts so your fans can follow you?
Yes, everyone can follow 1WS (One-Way Song) on

REVIEW: SHA IS SET TO RELEASE SELF TITLED EP SOON AND I GOT A SNEAK PEAK, HERE’S MY REVIEW .

SHA

Sha is a an American singer and songwriter and is ready to get his EP heard tobe ready for full album release which is coming out later.
Three of the tracks are right here and here is what I think.

‘Broke Bitches’ bouncy beat that starts off the song with some vocals coming from Sha which sets the song up.
It has a very interesting vocal melody and very consistant vocal quality which is nice to listen too.
The lyrics I would say should be heard by youg adults but the writing is very orignal and creative.
The Rythm seems a bit copmplex but flows through the entire song naturally and enjoyable to listen too.

‘Cleanloud’ more of a low beat start then jumps straight in with a faster beat and will get you moving.
Having a very engaging ,atmospheric instrumenal gives the song and artists very original sound.

‘Cleanplan’ vocals are more high pitched but not disturbing to listen too, It still carries on the whole feel of the three tracks above and this is an EP that has a lot of imagination and orginality to it which the artist would ave want and has achieved that.
PRE-ORDER ‘ SHA’ WHEN IT COMES OUT SOON.

REVIEW: GAVIN CHAPPELL-BATES IS SET TO RELEASE HIS SECOND SINGLE ON THE 20TH JULY 2015 FROM HIS DEBUT ALBUM AND IS CALLED ’95’.

gcb

Gavin has picked ’95’ to be his next single because its a upbeat track which is very BritPop has a great summer vibe.
The intro of this this track is ver bouncy and upbeat which automatically gets in you moving, this is continued throughout the whole track.

Gavin’s vocals are straight away heard and are very clear, mellifluous and very pleasant to listen too.

Lyrics in this song ’95’ lighten and inspire throughout the whole song and fits with the backing music fantastically but also takes us down Gavin’s memory lane of his summer in ’95’.

This is a song that would be memorable and have on repeat in the summer wholst having a BBQ , the fun intrumental variety has a great balanc and allows to be carried through the song and enjoy the music.
